Animal sounds

Me: What does a cow say, Xavier?
Xavier: Booooooo

Loyal fan

Xavier and I are watching the Cards/Cubs game together. Not only is Xavier a loyal Cardinals fan already, but he's trying his best to recruit more. He's currently chasing around the kitties with his Cardinals hat, trying to put it on them...

4D Ultrasound of Baby Hill

We had a fetal echocardiogram ultrasound done today to check on something in our little guy's heart. We don't have results yet, so keep that in your prayers please! After they looked at all the heart stuff, they also did a short 4D ultrasound that you can see in this video...
(Warning: it almost seems like his eyes open at the end of the video and it's a little creepy...like he's staring at you!)

Xavier--18 months!

To see more of his pictures at 18 months, go to my photography blog!
(and maybe I'll actually get his 18 month update written soon...I made notes at least :)

Easter pictures

One of these days (probably after the baby is here), I need to hire a photographer to take pictures of ALL of us together! But until then, you get these!

Happy Easter!

Xavier experienced his first Easter egg hunt yesterday, but due to a 40 degree rainy day, it all happened inside! He still had fun! He also sat through *almost* all of church, which is rather unusual these days!

Unfortunately, after a fun day, Xavier was throwing up last night...hope it wasn't from too much sugar!

Poor Diego

So when your house is on the market, pretty much the last thing you want to deal with is a throwing up cat. We think Diego is having issues stemming from hairballs, so we decided as part of his treatment to have him shaved. (Not to mention that he's been carrying around some extra mats in his extra furry coat since Xavier was born...kitty neglect?! oops...but better than child neglect, right?!) So on Friday, we took this drastic step and this is what our poor kitty looks like. Kind of like a strange combination of lion and rat!!
The worst part of this whole ordeal? Lulu's reaction. She won't stop hissing at him, even now over three days later. What a mean sister.

On a side note, my dad told me that growing up on a farm, he learned that when an animal gets in the way of how you're living life, you do something about it. But since I don't own a gun and I think it would be hard to give away a matted, throwing up cat, this was our best solution. :)

Names...part two

By the way, our cat Diego is going to be renamed "Leo Templeton Hill." Tune in tomorrow and I will explain why!

Baby Names...we need your help!

Matt is on the couch paging through the book 100,000 Baby Names. As you may know from our last pregnancy, we are not apt to give away our name before the baby is born. But we're having trouble deciding this time, so maybe it will be different. Here are a few of them that Matt has come up with so far... (meanings in parentheses) Which one sounds the best along with Xavier? Leave me a comment below with your votes or other suggestions!

1. Pasicerates (Greek for "he who dominates everyone")

2. Ninauari (Quechua for "llama-like animal of fire")

3. Hershel (Hebrew for "deer") (don't miss the awesome alliteration that would occur here!)

4. Nezahualcoyotl (Nahuatl for "fasting coyote")

(Matt's kind of mad I'm including Hershel because he likes it...)

Happy Birthday, Uncle Jonathan!

Hope you had a great day today! We love you!!
(I apologize for how old the picture is...I've been reminiscing about how little he looked a year ago and it's making me sad...so I'm busting out an old picture! Plus they look cute together!)

Opening Day!

At the Park with Sam

Here is Xavier's buddy Sam at the park together last Friday. What these pictures don't show is the pushing and fighting these little boys did! (I think Sam is used to having to hold his own with the kids his age at his daycare!) I'm exaggerating...but that is the reason they are sitting a few feet apart on the bench! Thanks for meeting us at the park, Amy and Sam!

Two little boys!!!

We found out Monday that we will be having a second boy! Here's a couple of his pictures! Edited to add: just to clarify, there is only one little boy inside me right now...don't want to confuse anyone with my title!

The day after the blizzard...the zoo??

Last Thursday during spring break, after a wonderful winter of lots of 60 degree days, we had a blizzard. Actually, we only ended up getting 9 inches of the predicted 16-22 we were supposed to get, but it was enough! But by Friday, we were stir crazy enough and the weather had gotten warm enough that we decided to go to the zoo! Matt was worried there might be a lot of other people who had the same idea, but there were approximately...7 other groups of people there! It was great to be able to let Xavier run around freely (especially when he got over eating all the snow) and we circled the whole zoo despite it being only about 40 degrees. At least the sun was out!

Here are some pictures inside a section of the bird house. You can see Xavier watching the birds fly back and forth overhead...and then clinging to Mama for protection!

By the way, there was a mountain lion there that wanted to kill my son...literally. He was stalking him, eyeing him, jumping around to follow Xavier's spastic movements. I have a picture of the cat, but it doesn't convey how creepy it really was so I'm not posting it!

Monkey Business

I've been trying my best to get Xavier to love his sock monkeys...and I think it's working! He usually has one pulled into his bed by the time we go to pick him up after sleeping and the other day, Matt took him up to get his pajamas on and he came back holding both of his sock monkeys!

My own sock monkey is getting pretty worn out (a gift from my mom on my 21st birthday!) Maybe I'll get a new one on my 30th birthday so I don't have to steal one of Xavier's...hmmmm...

Thank you, Grandma Hill!

Xavier loves the new book!! Thank you!
